For Hmar, our stories, oral traditions, and literature have sustained us for generations across the hills. But as the digital world expands, having a presence online is no longer optional, it is a necessity for preservation.
Digitizing the Hmar language, starting with initial efforts like the Wikipedia Incubator and open documentation, is about ensuring our youth can read, write, and engage with their native tongue where they spend most of their time: on screens.
This isn’t about complex technical perfection; it’s about building a digital footprint so our language doesn’t fade into history.
